Time to get ready for annual quilt show

The annual Oklahoma Home Community Education (OHCE) Quilt Show will be held April 28 and 29. For quilt entries to be included in the quilt show booklet, entry forms must be received no later than April 15. The forms may be dropped off at the County Extension office at the courthouse or mailed to Pat Taylor, 110 W. Taylor Dr., Sallisaw, OK 74955. Late entries will be accepted, but will not be included in the quilt show booklet.

Quilts are to be brought to the Sequoyah County Fairgrounds building between 7:30 a.m. and noon on April 27. The owner of the quilt should have their name, address and phone number pinned to the back of the quilt in the lower right hand corner. Due to space, entries are limited to three quilts per person. Number quilts one through 3 in priority of your choice. Quilts previously entered in this show will not be accepted. Quilts must be hand quilted or machine quilted and finished. Release forms will be given during check-in and must be presented to pick up quilts on Saturday.

Quilts will be taken down after 2 p.m. Saturday. Sponsors are not responsible for lost or damaged entries left after the show.

The quilt show will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, April 28 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29. Admission is $2 per person. Attendees may register to win a queen-size Double Wedding Ring quilt. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5, and may be purchased at the door, from any OHCE member or at the County Extension Office.

On Friday, lunch will be available for $7. On the menu are chicken, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, salads, rolls, dessert and drink. On Saturday the menu will be snacks and drinks individually priced.
